'SkyDrive' for students
16 February 2012
SkyDrive is an online service provided by the University as a result of an arrangement with Microsoft. It enables students to create, upload, share and access files from a web browser.
SkyDrive offers the following features:
- 25 gigabytes of storage
- access documents from any browser with an internet connection
- modify file permissions to share specific files or folders with fellow students (useful for group assignment work)
- smartphone access options.
Students can access SkyDrive by using their UniKey to login at skydrive.live.com.
This system replaces the 100MB storage available through the University's 'U:/ drive' facility, that was in place in faculty teaching labs and general computing access labs on campus.
