How does salary packaging work?

31 May 2012

Find out more about salary packaging by attending a workshop presented by SmartSalary, the company that administers salary packaging for the University.

As a University staff member you can salary package a laptop, tablet or other kind of portable computer. You can also package certain up-front education fees for University of Sydney courses undertaken by you or a family member. In practical terms, salary packaging means that a portion of your salary is allocated to an approved benefit. The amount allocated to the benefit reduces your taxable income.
