Find out about changes to superannuation
7 June 2012
Will you be impacted by the changes to concessional tax arrangements for superannuation that were announced in the recent federal budget?
From 1 July 2012, the amount of money people aged 50 and over are able to contribute to their super account at a concessional tax rate will be reduced from $50,000 to $25,000. Exceeding this amount will result in them paying additional tax.
Another change is that the superannuation contributions tax will double from 15 to 30 percent for individuals whose income exceeds $300,000.
