Editorial update: capitalisation

23 August 2012

The Editorial Style Guide aims to promote consistency in the language we use in the University's publications and websites, and to help answer questions you may have when publishing information about the University. A new addition to our guide summarises the most common capitalisation errors.

Our style is to minimise capitalisation, and the new summary explains when we should and shouldn't use it in our communications. It covers common issues, such as the correct style for:

  • degrees and units of study
  • faculties, centres and departments
  • job titles
  • university versus University.

Read the guide.
