Dr Merran Govendir awarded Thompson Fellowship
1 December 2009
Dr Merran Govendir has been awarded a University of Sydney Thompson Fellowship for two semesters starting Semester 1, 2010 for her project, Investigation into the significance of biomarkers in koala blood, as detected by liquid chromatography, to identify infectious disease and response to treatment.
The Thompson Fellowships recognize that women are significantly underrepresented at senior academic levels. Thompson Fellowships aim to specifically offer women presently at Levels C and D up to two semesters of relief from routine teaching and administrative responsibilities and to provide opportunities to develop and strengthen their research, preparing them to apply for, and assume, roles at levels D and E in the near future.
