Our alumni
Sydney Nursing School welcomes a lifelong connection between graduates and the School through ongoing communications and social and educational events.
Our alumni are leaders in the fields of nursing and midwifery in Australia and overseas. They are an integral part of the significant international network of our School and the University of Sydney.
As a graduate, your participation in our alumni community also means a lot to our current students who are looking for role models as they study, and in turn, become leaders and professionals in their chosen fields.

Sydney Nursing School alumni, students, staff and friends came together as volunteers in the University's Great Hall for the annual Birthing Kit Day event, which is now one of the largest of its kind in Australia. During a fun-packed morning,
5000 kits were assembled, to be sent to help pregnant women in central Africa deliver their babies in safe and clean environments.

DEAN'S GALA DINNER AND DEBATE – IMAGE GALLERY

On Thursday 27 September Sydney Nursing School held its Inaugural Dean's Alumni and Friends Gala Dinner and Debate in the Great Hall. The debate – Super-specialisation of health services benefits the health professionals, not patients – was entertaining, with evenly weighted arguments from both sides. Our Alumni Workplace Mentors are trained and ready! They are volunteers from a variety of nursing backgrounds who are happy to share their knowledge and experience with newly registered nurses. Their support helps boost the morale and confidence of students and new graduates moving into the workforce for the first time.

ALUMNI MENTOR TRAINING
Our first Alumni Mentor Training day was held on Thursday 26 July here at Sydney Nursing School. It was wonderful getting to know our mentors and our mentors getting to know each other, ready for the first group of students to enter the workforce and call on their experience and knowledge. Every mentor is passionate about offering support to new nurses, remembering what it was like to transition from study to the work environment. We are all very excited about this mentor program!

On 30 March 2012, over 175 nursing students, including our two PhD students Christina Aggar and Tim Wand, graduated in the Great Hall at the University of Sydney. Christina and Tim both work here at Sydney Nursing School. Fifteen Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) graduands who completed their degrees off-shore in Singapore came to the University of Sydney especially to celebrate their graduation.
