Our community

Research units and collaborations

Our research centres and collaborations span midwifery and women’s health, cancer research, sleep research, cardiovascular health and disease, rehabilitation nursing research and mental health research.

Learning and teaching environments

Alongside our main learning and teaching facilities at Mallett Street, students benefit from our partnerships in the community, which offer simulated learning and clinical placements.

The Compass program

We are proud to be involved in the Compass program, which seeks to address the under-representation of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, rural communities, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in higher education.

Our students in the community

Clinical placements from rural NSW to Vietnam allow students to actively engage in the health care community. They give back to the community through initiatives such as kit packing day, and setting up their own charities.

Our people in the community

On a global scale, our impact is clear. Amongst many other achievements, we have led curriculum development in Singapore for the last 20 years, revolutionised maternity care in Vietnam and re-imagined curricula in Tonga.

Our alumni

We welcome a lifelong connection between graduates and the School through ongoing communications and social and educational events. Our alumni are leaders in the fields of nursing and midwifery and a vital part of our network in the community. They generously offer their time to supports students and new graduates as they transition from the classroom to the workplace through the Alumni Workplace Mentor Program.
