Choosing a master's degree

You can either study full time (three semesters) or part time (five semesters) at the master's level.

Each unit of study may have up to five face-to-face study days (excluding the capstone). A normal part-time load is two units of study per semester.

The master's degree requires a total of 60 credit points – core and elective units of study make up 48 points, and a capstone completes the degree and is a further 12 credit points.

Award units taken at graduate diploma and graduate certificate levels may also count towards a master’s degree. Any non-award units of study already completed may also be credited towards a graduate diploma.

Student learning is further supported by the University’s eLearning.

Applying for a master's degree

There is one intake of students in March each year.

Application must be made online. You will also need to upload copies of other documentation as part of your online application process. To assist you, there is a checklist of required documents that you will need.

Cost of a master's degree

Master’s courses are full-fee paying and costs may increase each year. Fee-Help is available for Australian Citizens and the student centre will provide you with further information regarding eligibility and repayment information. The international fee rates vary depending on which level of degree you choose.

Visit the Costs and scholarships website for more detailed information.

Admission requirements for a Master of Emergency Nursing

Admission to our master’s courses requires a bachelor's degree with a credit average. For admission into the Master of Emergency Nursing, you must be a registered nurse in Australia or in a country other than Australia.

Clinical practice requirements
