Global partnerships – International programs
These programs are open to pre-registration students in their final year of study, subject to availability. You will also need to attend the information session, complete the Expression of Interest form, and possibly attend an interview.

Through these programs you have the opportunity to gain an international experience and facilitate development as a global citizen. Currently the countries involved in these partnerships are Sweden and The Netherlands.
If you are completing your final year of studies in either the pre-registration Master of Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) you are eligible to apply for a place on one of these programs by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) by completing the EOI form and providing a CV. You will be required to attend an information session and possible interview.
The placement is for 4 weeks during November/December 2014 and counts for a percentage of your clinical placement hours.
In 2014, the units of study that provide a suitable platform for international exchange programs are:
Master of Nursing (Graduate Entry/Combined Degree)
- NURS6027 Nursing Practice Options (High Acuity Option)
- NURS6028 Nursing Practice Option (Clinical Nursing Option)
Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies)
- NURS3014 Professional Practice Experience
How to apply for International Student Exchange programs
Respond to call for Expression of Interest (EOI) by completing the EOI form and providing a CV. You will be required to attend an information session and possible interview.
Students will be responsible for all travel and accommodation expenses.
Other considerations for international experiences include the following (varies from region to region):
- Extra time travel
- Any extra health issues
There may also be other general support offered by the University to assist you with the process of travelling abroad. This information can be provided at the information session.
In 2014 there will be 10 opportunities for students to have an international professional experience in India through an Antipodeans Abroad Program.
In 2014, the Antipodeans Abroad program will be in Palampur, Northern India.

How to apply for a Hoc Mai Scholarship
You will be notified through the University and Sydney Nursing School websites when applications are open each year. Application will probably require a resume with a recent photo, two letters of reference (one from a clinical tutor from Sydney Nursing School), and an essay. You will also need vaccination records as per Ministry of Health policy.
