Mini-lectures

Hear about Sydney Nursing School’s new Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) program and our unique combined degree nursing programs – a Bachelor of Arts, Health Sciences or Science with a Master of Nursing. There are so many choices. Each program equips you with all the practical experience and academic knowledge you’ll need to embrace the many career opportunities in nursing and to make a difference to people’s lives.

Lecture times: 10–11am | 11am–12noon | 12 noon–1pm | 1–2pm

Mini-lecture – Men in Nursing

If you’re a man who cares about people then you could make a great registered nurse. Men comprise nearly 10% of registered nurses in Australia and at Sydney Nursing School 16% of our students are male. We encourage all our students, both men and women, to reach their full potential. So, if you’re a man and thinking about a caring profession then this mini-lecture is for you! Meet our male academic staff and students and discover rewarding nursing opportunities in health care settings.

Lecture time: 2–3pm

Tours

Our nursing students learn and practise their clinical skills in Sydney Nursing School’s clinical simulation laboratories which feature a large number of medium and high fidelity manikins, including SimMan and SimBaby. Though it maybe a little bit scary at first, they’re just like a real hospital! The labs are where you’ll learn to practise your skills before you undertake your clinical placements in real health care settings.

Tour times: 9.30am | 10.30am | 11.30am | 12.30pm | 1.30pm | 2.30pm

Information booth

You can speak to academic staff and student advisers about our nursing programs at Stall 5 in the Great Hall at Camperdown Campus. Discuss anything and everything you need to know about your ATAR, Flexible Entry, University scholarships and choosing the right nursing program for you.

Info Booth hours: 9.30am–4pm, Stall 5

Hands-on-Health checks

Make sure you’re in the best shape to get through your HSC and get ready to start uni next year with a free health check from Sydney Nursing School staff and students. They’ll check your blood sugar levels, temperature, blood pressure and pulse.

Find them in the Interactive Tent at University Place

Grab a ride

There’s a free shuttle bus between Camperdown Campus and Mallett Street Campus (Sydney Nursing School). You can find the bus on the corner of Manning an Fisher roads, not far from the Quadrangle – just ask a student ambassador wearing a red T-shirt for directions. From Sydney Nursing School just jump back on the bus and return to all the other action on main campus.

Every half hour from 9.50am to 2.50pm
STA buses travel down Parramatta Road – just get off at Australia St or Church St
