Post-registration courses
The following courses are referred to as "post-registration" because they are available to students who are already registered nurses*. These courses recognise the prior learning experiences of registered nurses and provide graduates with a framework with which they can enhance their professional practice.
Local students
Local students must be registered to practise nursing in NSW and hold a qualification at certificate or diploma level.
International students
International students must be registered to practise nursing in a country other than Australia and hold a qualification at certificate or diploma level (or its Australian equivalent). If you are an international student, the Bachelor of Nursing (Post-registration) will not lead to registration as a nurse in NSW. Overseas nurses who wish to become registered in NSW must undertake the Master of Nursing.

Clinical practice
Some of the specialty areas of postgraduate study have clinical practice requirements. These are clearly explained within the relevant areas under Course information.
Note: Not all the specialty areas require clinical practice as part of the course.
