Sydney Nursing School – A new name for a new era

According to Professor Jill White, Dean of Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney,

Professor Jill White

"Our new name – Sydney Nursing School – heralds a new name for a new era. It reflects the new era of close association with other University of Sydney health faculties, including Sydney Medical School and School of Public Health. It signals to our communities, including those at the University and our professional partners, that we are part of an international learning, research and practice environment.

"Now is a particularly exciting and challenging time for Australian nurses and midwives with the world opening up to different possibilities in health care. With a strengthened research framework and new and revised programs ready for 2010 Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney is ready to take on the challenges of health care teaching and research in the new era.”

Sydney Nursing School looks forward to continuing our active engagement with students, staff, alumni community and our education and professional partners in the years ahead.
