A randomised controlled trial of low level laser therapy (LLLT) for the treatment of lymphoedema secondary to breast cancer

This collaborative study aims to determine if the use of low level laser therapy (LLLT) is more effective than standard treatment for women suffering from mild and moderate lymphoedema secondary to breast cancer, and evaluate the standard treatment for women suffering from severe lymphoedema secondary to breast cancer.

The three-phase study will address if LLLT is as effective as standard treatment, determine the effect of dose on treatment outcome, and evaluate the role of LLLT when given in addition to standard treatment.
