Keeping mothers and babies together – A comparative study of near term admissions in two neonatal intensive care units
Using a retrospective audit the admission of near term infants (35–36 weeks) in two neonatal units at Royal Prince Alfred and Royal North Shore will be examined to determine if there is a difference in admission rates. This information will be used to determine reasons for the admission of otherwise well infants to the neonatal units and make recommendations for practice that may reduce maternal infant separation in these two large tertiary centres.
