Health Care Practice

The five core research themes which make up the strategic pillars of our research framework also support nursing and midwifery research of direct relevance to health care practice, including:

  • Developing the disciplines of nursing and midwifery
  • Effective practice and improving health outcomes
  • The experience of health and illness across the lifespan
  • Supporting children, families and carers
  • Primary health care
  • Health systems, services, policy and regulation

Through our disciplinary involvement in the national health priority areas that make up our five core research themes, we continue to establish effective intramural and extramural research partnerships between clinicians and other health professionals in health care practice, and encourage cross-disciplinary and collaborative research nationally and internationally.
