Biographical details

Jacklin Fisher is a credentialled mental health nurse and Fellow of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN). She has over 15 years experience as an academic teaching in mental health nursing, sociology, psychology and Indigenous health. She is an experienced mental health nurse with clinical experience working in acute and community mental health services, and in general practice under the mental health nurse incentive program (MHNIP).

Jacklin was awarded a PhD from Southern Cross University in 2011 for which she undertook a study that identified therapeutic roles that nurses and consumers believed were most helpful in the nursing care of people with serious and ongoing mental illness.

Jacklin employs her mental health nursing skills in community work, most recently working pro bono as a mental health nurse counsellor for asylum seekers at the Asylum Seekers Centre in Surry Hills.

She provides clinical supervision to staff at Central Sydney Area Mental Health Service, and is a reviewer for academic journals, Contemporary Nurse; International Journal of Mental Health Nursing
