Biographical details
I am a registered nurse with over 20 years clinical experience and I have worked as a registered nurse in Australia and overseas. My clinical experience is predominantly in acute/critical care areas. I am also a member of the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses.
I am committed to nursing as a discipline and have a passion for nurse education which first surfaced when I worked as a clinical nurse specialist in intensive care in the early 1990s. I believe in a student-centred, evidence-based approach to teaching and learning. I have a solid background in nurse education and have worked as a clinical nurse educator at ward level, a new graduate coordinator, a nurse educator at hospital level and a clinical facilitator for undergraduate nursing students. These roles have provided me with a strong clinical education ethic that is well suited to the tertiary sector especially in the clinical units.
