Open Day is a fantastic opportunity to talk directly with university staff and current students to find answers to your questions. Faculty members, student ambassadors and other uni representatives will be available to give you information and advice about courses, university life, facilities, accommodation and scholarships and lots more.

Prepare for Open Day

Do I need to register to attend Open Day?

You don't need to register to attend, but by registering online, we'll be able to send you exclusive updates and inform you if there are changes on the day.

How do I get to the University?

Free shuttle buses will run between Railway Square at Central and the Camperdown Campus on Open Day. Alternatively, you can catch a train and walk to the Darlington Campus, which is a short (10-minute) walk from Redfern train station. Find out more on our how to get here page.

How can I plan my day?

Most of our mini lectures run back-to-back, which means you might not have a lot of time to move to the next lecture. Make sure you plan your day in advance using our website or app, and check the maps for venue locations to help navigate your way around our campus on the day.

Do I need to register for mini lectures?

Registration is not required. Please note that we cannot guarantee seats at talks which may be popular on the day.

Can I get free WiFi access on Open Day?

Free WiFi is available on the day, please check with our student ambassadors for login and password.

Is the University accessible if I have special needs?
  • There is a wheelchair ramp access at the front of Great Hall and lift access to the MacLaurin Hall.
  • A ramp will be installed to allow access to the fete stalls in the Quadrangle.
  • Allocated disabled parking bays are available in all carparks on campus. Security will provide additional disabled parking bays at University Place, accessible via the University Avenue entrance.
I am interested in postgraduate study. Can I attend Open Day?

We welcome both prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students and wider community to our Open Day. Please visit our course advice centres or Postgraduate info stall in the Quadrangle to learn more about postgraduate study options.

On the day

Where can I get an Open Day event program booklet?

You can collect your Open Day program and showbag from the information stalls.

Where can I get a brochure about the University's courses?

A copy of the 2016 Undergraduate Guide will be in the showbag or collect a copy from staff at any of the information stalls.

What if I have more questions after a mini lecture?

If there isn't enough time to ask questions because there's another lecture on in the same room, you can always speak to staff at our faculty stalls in the Great Hall, MacLaurin Hall and New Law School Foyer.

I am having trouble connecting to the Open Day free Wi-Fi.

Select forget to remove any existing University of Sydney Wi-Fi connection from your device, and reconnect to the Open Day Wi-Fi network after a few minutes.

Where can I get something to eat?

Food outlets are located on the Front Lawn, at the Fisher Library Coffee Cart, Carslaw Coffee Cart, Footbridge Catering Outlet, Ralph's Café and the Engineering Precinct Catering Outlet.

Who should I speak to if I need help?

Please speak to our student ambassador or security guard on campus if you need any assistance.

After Open Day

If I missed Open Day, can I visit the campus at another time?

Of course! You're welcome to visit us anytime. We also run tours on the first Friday of every month from 4 to 5pm. Visit our campus tour page to register. To arrange a tour for career advisers or school groups, please use the booking form on the career advisers website.
