CPC hubs

One mission: a network of thriving research hubs
Our research extends beyond central Sydney with our top academics and physicians conducting innovative research at Nepean and Westmead.

The Charles Perkins Centre aspires to lead change on a local, national and global scale. Our research is people-centric. We focus on finding interventions, treatments and solutions for the problems of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and their related conditions, which have a severe and growing effect on the quality of life of millions of people throughout the world.

Communities across Australia face the burden of these chronic diseases. This is why from its founding, the Charles Perkins Centre has sought to establish research bases in communities outside our central base on the University of Sydney’s Camperdown campus.

Since then we have continued to grow our presence, establishing CPC Nepean and CPC Westmead to sit within the vibrant health research precincts at both locations.

The communities of Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains are vitally important to our mission, because a number of factors contribute to an especially increased risk and incidence of diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease.
