All of the Judith and David Coffey Life Lab projects involve high levels of interdisciplinary interaction, and also employ large volumes of different types of data, both as input and as output from models.

A crucial factor in the success of all of all of these projects is the ability to visualise and interpret this data. The visualisation theme will produce software tools for the real time visualisation of data that is output from models.

The same type of tools will also be used for visualisation of raw input data. Methodologies for detection of patterns in high dimensional data sets will be developed and interactivity will be incorporated to allow manipulation of images, perspectives, scale and different cross sections through the dimensions. The potential of haptic interfaces and 3D technology will be explored.
