Research interests
Drug transporters are the functional cell surface membrane proteins, which are playing critical roles in drug absorption, distribution and elimination. Because of their unique characters to transport structural specific drugs, they have been widely studied as the targets of drug development.
My research interests are to explore the molecular regulation of critical solute carrier drug transporter families (SLCs) as well as the influenc of the SLCpharmacogenetic variations on pharmacokinetic performance of various drugs, such as anti-HIV drugs, antibiotics and anti-cancer drugs.
My research work will contribute to:
- Investigate the regulatory mechanisms of SLCtransporters.
- Elucidate the roles ofSLC transporters played in drug absorption and disposition.
- Explore the interactions of a wide range of clinical relevant compounds with SLC transporters.
- Demonstrate therelationship betweenSLC pharmacogenetic variations and drug pharmacokinetic performance.
