Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice
Highly skilled, knowledgeable professional pharmacists are prized assets in today’s healthcare system. The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice is a part-time postgraduate course designed to develop your professional skills and give you a competitive advantage in the industry.
Open to current interns and all registered pharmacist, the course can be completed in 1-2 years through advanced online collaborative learning exercises and interaction with the faculty’s internationally-renowned academics. Students will develop exceptional clinical skills and gain a deeper understanding of the predominant disease states facing contemporary pharmacy practice in Australia. The University of Sydney’s Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice is the only tertiary education/university level program of its kind in New South Wales.
There are two pathways to completion of the Graduate Certificate; the first encompasses the required units of study needed to complete the faculty’s NAPE-endorsed Intern Training Program. Applicants with existing pharmacist practitioner registration complete an alternate pathway that reflects their experience (this pathway substitutes the ITP with two other subjects). The course allows pharmacists to gain further insight into major disease states such as diabetes, mental health, healthy ageing and cardiovascular and renal diseases. Students also learn advanced clinical skills and expertise directly applicable to contemporary pharmacy practice.
Applicants for the Graduate Certificate who are not undertaking the ITP are required to:
- have existing registration as a pharmacist
- English language proficiency (if relevant)
