Upcoming tenders

The University of Sydney (“University” “we” or “us”) seeks tenders for the supply of:

Contractor Services to establish a Building Contractors Panel for the next three (3) to five (5) years of up-coming works planned for our Sydney-region (and regional) campuses. Establishing a Panel is an integral part of the CIS Operating Model and will critically enable effective and efficient infrastructure project delivery for Capital Works, Facilities Management, Planning and Operations. By implementing a prequalification scheme, the University is encouraging contractors to commit to long-term continuous improvement to achieve exceptional performance on construction projects, in return for increased business opportunities and longer-term relationships through cooperative contracting.

Prequalification will be based on a proven record of high-level performance and financial and technical capacity. Contractors must demonstrate a sound business structure, financial viability, effective management systems, appropriate qualifications and expertise, relevant experience and a history of reputable project performance to be eligible for prequalification.

Once selected, these Contractors will also have the ability to grow and diversify during their time as a Panel member, with the opportunity to bid for an extensive list of projects across a range of disciplines. These disciplines include:

  • new build;
  • refurb; and
  • fit-out;

which will be available to Head Contractors only, and:

  • heritage;
  • civil; and
  • demolition works;

which will be available to both Head Contractors and Specialist Contractors.

Individual project values during the Panel engagement can be expected to range from $500,000 to $20 million, with the University's total portfolio estimated at approximately $30 million, per annum, for the next three (3) years. As a result, the Panel will provide maximum opportunity of work for those successful, consisting of only a select few shortlisted tenderers who demonstrate the highest level of expertise and efficiency.
