Institutional Analytics and Planning

Institutional Analytics and Planning (IAP) is the University’s data reporting centre, providing insights for cross-faculty collaboration and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.

IAP aims to remove the need for siloed information and duplication of manual analysis by centralising and integrating data sources and reporting systems.

IAP works closely with:

  • Registrar - particularly Sydney Student, the Student Centre and Student Recruitment and Admissions
  • Education, Research and Indigenous Strategy and Services portfolios
  • Professional Services Units including Finance, Information Communication Technology (ICT), Human Resources (HR) and Campus Infrastructure Services (CIS)

IAP manages:

  • Strategic processes – ongoing planning processes within the University, including forecasting, modelling, new course development, organisational hierarchy changes and management of UniForum benchmarking
  • Student fee, load and course planning including fee market analysis
  • Government reporting – ensuring the University complies with government regulatory obligations for funding and reporting
  • IAP Insights – a suite of business intelligence (BI) systems, providing functional teams with the ability to leverage integrated data from a single source of truth to solve specific data challenges
  • Insights Hub – a centralised location designed to integrate and improve University data consolidation and accessibility, while providing staff with relevant information and self-service tools to help make informed decisions
