Help patients learn more about their cancer treatment options

Have you ever received, or know somebody who has received treatment for cancer?

The treatment of newly diagnosed cancer patients is often considered at a multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting of cancer professionals convened at Public or Private Hospitals. GP’s and patients may not be present at MDT meetings and often meeting outcomes are not passed on to GPs and patients.

To better inform patients and improve communication of MDT outcomes, The University of Sydney, in conjunction with the Cancer Institute NSW are developing a report template to summarise treatment outcomes of MDT meetings specific for patients.

To ensure our strategy is patient focused we are requesting involvement from consumers. Participation in the study will require the viewing of a draft patient MDT report template and a short telephone interview to provide feedback.

For further information about the study, please contact Alexandra Hawkey or phone 02 9351 3137.
