Summary
The use of social media and social networking in health communication offers a number of novel public health capabilities. This project will involve working with a team involved with utilizing social media technologies for health applications.

Synopsis
The HICIL research lab is carrying out funded projects utilizing both social media and mobile computing to assist in healthcare communication and service delivery. Social media provides new techniques to reach members of the community for public health purposes, provides new ways to personalize communication and also provides new models for patient-to-patient health communities. This project will involve utilizing socio-technical approaches to both develop and evaluate a novel social technology intervention for a specified common health condition.
