A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a good Hons degree (or equivalent) in pharmacology, chemistry, medical science or engineering to undertake research studies leading to a PhD (preferably to commence in Semester 2, 2013). The project aims to discover novel strategies and candidate drug molecules rationally designed to repress inflammation in airway diseases such as asthma and airway remodelling.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants should have knowledge and experience in cellular and molecular biology, computer-aided drug design or molecular modelling of proteins. Applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.
AMOUNT AWARDED: The scholarship is valued at the APA rate i.e. $24,653 per annum (tax exempt) and may be renewed for up to three years, subject to satisfactory progress.
