Computational Fluid Dynamic Studies of Bubble Dynamics in Electrocoagulation Reactors
This project will use computational fluid dynamics to study bubble dynamics and their effect on mixing within electrocoagulation reactors.
In particular the effects of electrocoagulation design (electrode spacing and reactor geometry) and operation (current density) will be investigated. The results of this study will assist in designing better electrocoagulation reactors, and may also find application in electrowinning processes for metals such as copper and zinc.
