Large-Scale Simulation of Creative Societies

Summary

The development of large-scale simulations of creative societies using curious design agents.

Supervisor(s)

Dr Rob Saunders

Research Location

Design Lab, at the Faculty of Architecture, Design & Planning

Program Type

Masters/PHD

Synopsis

Small computational models of creative societies based on curious design agents have shown some interesting emergent dynamics, similar to those observed in human societies, including the isolation of individuals who innovate too quickly, the formation of cliques, and the emergence of fashion cycles. This research project will explore the these social dynamics and others in large-scale simulations to explore the factors that affect their emergence.
