About Professor Michael Jackson
Research interests include: Political theory, applied ethics, leadership, and utopia.
Professor Jackson is a political theorist. His teaching and research have both earned recognition within and outside the university. He is the author of three books and more than eighty articles in international, refereed journals. He is on the editorial committees of the American Review of Public Administration (USA), Hobbes Studies (Finland), Journal of Management History (UK), Journal of Value Inquiry (Netherlands), and Theoria (South Africa). He has served as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Director of the University's Institute for Teaching and Learning, and Head of Department. He has supervised recent PhD studies of the general will, philosophy of history in the German-speaking world, British idealism, leadership in policy development, and more.
Dr Jackson is Emeritus Professor in the Department of Government and International Relations.
