About Professor Duncan Ivison

Professor Ivison's teaching and research interests include: Contemporary political philosophy and the history of political and moral philosophy, especially in the early modern period. He is particularly interested in theories of justice, freedom, the self and the state, as well as the rights of indigenous peoples and the philosophy of law. He has published in all of these areas. Professor Ivison is the author of The Self at Liberty (Cornell University Press, 1997), Postcolonial Liberalism (Cambridge University Press, 2002), Rights (Acumen, 2008) and co-editor of Political Theory and the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (Cambridge University Press, 2000).
