Policies and codes
Decisions made about managing research data should be informed by relevant policy and codes of practice.
Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
The Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research issued by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) guides institutions and researchers in responsible research practices and promotes integrity in research.
Section 2, Management of research data and primary materials, includes specific responsibilities in relation to management of research data. Compliance with the Code is a prerequisite for receipt of NHMRC funding.
See Why share research data for further information about ARC and NHMRC funding rules.
