How the University uses your research output

Research management system

Since 2002 the University’s research publications have been stored in a research management system. This information is used for reporting to HERDC and ERA. Publications are awarded points and these are used to determine the amount of funding the University will receive.

HERDC stands for the Higher Education Research Data Collection.

ERA stands for Excellence in Research for Australia. ERA is a new system that aims to assess research quality within Australia's higher education institutions.
