Each HERDC record needs to have a Field of Research (FOR) code. Up to 3 FOR codes can be entered for each publication record.
These codes are also called Australian and New Zealand Standard Research Classification (ANZSRC) codes. They are used in the collection, analysis and dissemination of research and experimental development (R&D) statistics in Australia and New Zealand.
Field of Research codes (FOR)
FOR codes are used to identify the general topic area in which the research was carried out. A minimum of one FOR code needs to be entered for each publication; up to three codes can be chosen, provided that the percentage split equals 100%.
Further information about FOR codes is available from the Australian Bureau of Statistics
