ERA 2009
In 2009 a trial of two ERA clusters was carried out. The two clusters were Physical, Chemical and Earth Sciences (PCE; Cluster 1) and Humanities and Creative Arts (HCA; Cluster 2).
Results from the trial were released by the ARC at a national level in late 2009 but not at an institutional level due to the remaining problems and uncertainties in the methodology.
In many disciplines, Australian research was rated outstanding, and in almost all disciplines, Australian research was rated above average, compared to world benchmarks.
