After hours access

All students have access to the campus Monday to Friday 9am-5pm during semester.

Access to facilities outside these hours during semester may be granted to undergraduate students. Please check SCA campus access local guideline and contact Technical Supervisor in your area.

Honours and postgraduate students also have access Monday to Friday from 5pm to midnight during semester, and from 8am to midnight on weekends and in semester breaks.

Study Abroad students who are in an equivalent Honours year in their home institution may also be granted after hours access, if deemed suitable by their Technical Supervisor.

You must participate in an induction session before accessing facilities/studios at SCA. After-hours access is activated on your student card once you complete the induction session.

Key deposits and refunds

In addition to student card swipe access, some students might need to apply for keys to access relevant areas of the campus during their study at SCA. A refundable deposit of $25 for each key is required. Key Request Forms are available from the Studio & Technical Supervisors. Key Deposit Payments can be made here.

All lost keys should be reported immediately to the Campus Operations Service Counter in person, or by telephone to +61 2 9351 1111, or by email to . There will be a charge of $25 per item to replace any lost keys.

To obtain a refund on key deposits, keys are to be returned to your Studio & Technical Supervisor, along with the following 2 completed forms:

  • Student Key Refund Form - Please fill out details in the green boxes only.
  • Bank Details Form* - Please fill out all details.
    *Current students and recent alumni (within 6 months of completion) are not required to fill in this form. Please update your banking details in Sydney Student.

Campus bus

The University has a free shuttle bus between the city-based campuses.


Sydney College of the Arts, as part of The University of Sydney, operates as a Restricted Parking Area under the Road Traffic Act. Drivers must observe traffic and parking rules as they would on any public street. Vehicles must display authorisation to park in a Restricted Area and may only be parked within marked bays as appropriate to the authorisation and signage displayed. Traffic and parking is managed under the Self Enforcing Infringement Notice Scheme (SEINS) with breach notices being issued by University Security Patrol Officers and fines being collected by the NSW Police Infringement Processing Bureau. SEINS is enforceable 24 hours per day.

Student Parking Permits are available for a nominal fee and entitle the bearer to park in the Northern, Southern and Western Carparks on campus.

Students and Staff must not park in the Visitor parking located on the eastern side of the campus. Parking in the internal courtyards is available to honours and postgraduate students ONLY after 5.00pm weekdays and from 8am to midnight on weekends.

Cars parked outside designated parking areas will be subject to parking infringement notices.

Pay for your parking permit first (select SCA Sales and then PARKING STICKER 2018-$70), then apply for your parking permit.

Ramps provide wheelchair access to most areas of the campus. An elevator provides access to the second floor of some studio areas. There are two disabled bathrooms available.
