Animal or Vegetable

Animal or Vegetable, an exhibition by SCA visiting artist, Joseph Cavalieri, will open on Tuesday 30 March, 5 to 7pm, at Sydney College of the Arts.
New York glass artist Joseph Cavalieri’s career includes international museum and gallery shows, but he is most recognized for creation of the Missing Episode stained glass series, a series of multi layered stained glass panels where the Simpsons characters are being killed. They are all set in elaborate renaissance settings. Two of these stained glass panels have been bought by writers of the Simpsons, one panel currently hangs in the Simpson’s offices in Los Angeles where the show is written.
Il Canguro che ha Mangiato Sydney (The Kangaroo That Ate Sydney) is one of the two glass panels which will have it's first showing to the public in the Animal or Vegetable exhibition. The second panel is named I Venti Volti di Tony Abbott (The 20 Faces of Tony Abbott) will be featured as well. Both were produced during his residency at Sydney College of the Arts.
