Johannes Kuhnen: a survey of innovation

Johannes Kuhnen: a survey of innovation presents the story of Johannes Kuhnen’s practice as it has evolved over more than 30 years. Associate Professor Helge Larsen will open the exhibition at Sydney College of the Arts on Wednesday 4 August, 5:30 to 7:30pm. The exhibition continues to Saturday 28 August and there will be a special viewing during the SCA Open Day on Saturday 28 August, 10:00am to 4:00pm.
Kuhnen is a pioneer of the anodising and colouring process of aluminium and its application in a studio based practice. He combines traditional working methods with industrial materials and processes. The works are recognisable through his dynamic use of colour and form and his attention to detail. This exhibition presents an overview of Kuhnen’s work from 1970 – 2009 and is supported by a richly illustrated catalogue.
Johannes Kuhnen: a survey of innovation is an official event of the Sydney Design Festival 2010 presented by the Powerhouse Museum.
