JEROME DE COSTA MEMORIAL AWARD
Valued at $600
Funds from the Jerome de Costa bequest have been allocated to SCA to provide funds for the support of studies of students of dedication and ability, who are also in circumstances of financial need. Students in the first and second year of the Bachelor of Visual Arts are invited to apply.
In accordance with the wishes of the donor, students are requested to make a statement in their application outlining their particular circumstances of need. SCA Scholarships Sub-Committee will assess the applicants on academic merit and need.
SIR WILLIAM DOBELL ART FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Valued at $2,000
Open to second an third year Bachelor of Visual Arts students.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need.
You must submit with your application a PowerPoint presentation showcasing ten recent examples of your artwork or a DVD containing a moving image, sound or film work of not more than five minutes duration.
The work submitted for consideration must be authenticated as your work by your Academic Advisor and have been produced within the past twelve months. Whilst not encouraged, if group or partnered work forms part of submission, written evidence must be provided of your degree of participation. Submissions must be Apple/Mac compatible. Visual material will not be returned.
ZELDA STEDMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Valued at $6,000
Funds from the Zelda Stedman Bequest have been allocated to SCA to provide scholarships to further the education of creative artists in subjects related to the visual arts and the development of the visual artistic skills in tertiary level students. The scholarships shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit and need.
There are two categories:
Zelda Stedman Young Artist Scholarship - for young artists (defined as artists whose professional practice is emerging not established) who have shown talent but have no tertiary qualification. The focus will be to assist the development of artists currently enrolled at SCA in years 2 and 3 Bachelor of Visual Arts or an undergraduate student studying Fine Arts in the Faculty of Arts, University of Sydney and enrolled in interdisciplinary study at SCA.
Zelda Stedman Young Student Scholarship - for students accepted into Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) or Master of Fine Arts degree studies at SCA or undertaking interdisciplinary study in either of those SCA courses.
In accordance with the terms of the Bequest, preference will be given to candidates majoring in painting or sculpting, however application is not limited to these disciplines.
You must submit with your application a PowerPoint presentation showcasing ten recent examples of your artwork or a DVD containing a moving image, sound or film work of not more than five minutes duration and an evidence of your financial need such as eligibility for Youth Allowance/Austudy or a statement of/argument for financial need with other supporting evidence.
The work submitted for consideration must be authenticated as your work by your Academic Advisor and have been produced within the past twelve months. FAUVETTE LOUREIRO MEMORIAL ARTISTS EXCHANGE SCHOLARSHIP (FLMAES)
Valued at $5,000
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and standard of work. It is only available to the students accepted into an international exchange program with an institution with which the University of Sydney has a current exchange agreement (this includes faculty exchange agreements held with Sydney College of the Arts) and undertake that exchange.
No application form is necessary.
In accordance with the terms of the Bequest, preference will be given to candidates majoring in painting, however application is not limited to these disciplines.
FAUVETTE LOUREIRO MEMORIAL ARTISTS TRAVEL SCHOLARSHIP (FLMATS)
The scholarship celebrates a bequest of the late Renee Fauvette Erdos in memory of her mother Fauvette Loureiro, the eldest daughter of artist Arthur Loureiro. Funds from the estate have been allocated to the University of Sydney to make possible a travelling scholarship for visual artists. The Renee Fauvette Erdos bequest also funds international exchange scholarships for SCA students.
The Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Artists Travel Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to a recent SCA graduates* to further their visual arts practice and professional development in an international environment. The scholarship offers $28,000** and is awarded on the basis of an application and visual documentation of recent work.
*Applicants must have graduated from SCA within the past four years (2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 or 2008). The scholarship is not open to currently enrolled or deferred students.
** Two payments of $14,000 each over a consecutive two-year period.

Open to students in their final year of the Bachelor of Visual Arts (Pass or Hons) majoring in Painting, Drawing or Printmaking.
