How to apply - International
If you are NOT a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or a permanent resident of Australia, you are considered an international applicant.
You should apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) if you are an international student who is studying towards one of the following qualifications:
- an Australian Year 12 qualification (e.g. NSW HSC, VCE, SA Matriculation) either in Australia or overseas in the current year
- the International Baccalaureate in Australia or overseas in the current year
- the New Zealand Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 in New Zealand in the current year.
Please follow the guidelines for domestic applicants.
If you are an international applicant and are not studying any of the above qualifications in the current year you should apply directly to the University of Sydney by last working date in October.
You must also submit with your application a statement that describes your work and outlines artistic and educational objectives and a portfolio of your recent artwork. Your statement must include answers to the following questions:
- After graduating from Sydney College of the Arts, which career path would you like to follow?
- What art or design related activities have you undertaken in a professional or semi-professional capacity?
- Describe an exhibition, concert or other art event that you have seen recently and explain how this stimulated your artistic ideas.
- What is one of the most important skills you have learned?
