Undergraduate Orientation Sessions

Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) holds dedicated orientation sessions for all new undergraduate students. During orientation we will welcome you to SCA, provide you with important information about the facilities and resources available to you, and provide you with an overview of your responsibilities as a member of the SCA community.

Orientation is compulsory for all commencing students.

Bachelor of Visual Arts Orientation Program

Monday, 3 March, 2pm - 5pm

Welcome to new students by the Dean, Colin Rhodes followed by overview of the Bachelor of Visual Arts program by the Head of Contemporary Art Department, Oliver Smith.

Lecturer Oliver Watts will first discuss the work and creative practice of David Haines and Justin Trendall and after a short break will lead a panel discussion with a range of staff reflecting on their undergraduate experience and future projects.

Tuesday, 4 March, 2pm - 5pm

Welcome by the First Year Coordinators Rebecca Beardmore and Michael Doolan.

Meet key staff, your fellow students and representatives from the Sydney College of the Arts Student Society (SCASS) .

You will hear from the following people:

Photoshop and Adobe Suite demonstrations in SCA Computer Lab 3, Building 3.

Thursday, 6 March, 10am - 6pm

Lunch time, 1-2pm, Sydney Biennale Talk, by Nicholas Tsoutas.

At 4 pm meet at 3 Weeds Hotel for SCASS Art Trivia Night.

Meet at 10 am at the Museum of Contemporary Art Circular Quay entrance for a Gallery Hop and Scavenger Hunt organised by your fellow students.
