NAVISCA

Navigate SCA, also known as NAVISCA, is an exploratory tool that focuses on allowing the user to take a self-directed tour of the SCA campus, from the main entrance to and within the Film and Digital Art (FDA) Studio. Taking inspiration from Google Maps' street view, the user will be able to explore the campus as if they are virtually a part of it.

NAVISCA was conceptualized, designed and developed by Master of Interactive and Digital Media (MIDM) candidate, Saima Ali, as her Semester 1 Major Project. NAVISCA has been developed with all the skills and recommended design principles taught in the MIDM program. The critical part of the project was not just the backend coding, but all the extensive field work required: setting points on campus, taking 360 degree photographs in appropriate weather conditions and finally creating an illusion of movement between images through ActionScript.

“An impassioned vision and sheer love for coding was just the start. After surviving endless all-nighters with music, coffee, google and hope, I look forward to an even more challenging project in my second semester", Saima Ali said.
