The Callan Park Gallery for Self-Taught and Outsider Art is based at Sydney College of the Arts, fronting directly onto Callan Park. Its mission is to showcase Self-taught and Outsider work of the highest quality in an ongoing series of exhibitions.

Studio Artists Consolidate
Studio ARTISTS Consolidate showcases art work developed by the Studio ARTIST collective during a mentorship
program undertaken in late 2011 and 2012. With support from Arts NSW, the mentorship program linked each Studio
ARTIST with an established artist. Each artist worked with their mentor to develop a new body of work, and to deepen
their understanding of professional arts practice.

2009 Exhibitions
Anthony Mannix
An exhibition of work by Australia’s most celebrated Outsider artist, will open at the Callan Park Gallery on Thursday 3 December, 6 to 8pm. The opening will feature a rare collaborative performance by Anthony Mannix, with a live reading of recent writings called ‘The Being of Art’, accompanied by a tape loop soundscape by The Loop Orchestra.
Snakes
A collection of snake sculptures by Portuguese artist, José dos Santos (1904-96) and snake artworks by Australian Self-Taught and Outsider artists, will open at the Callan Park Gallery on Thursday 5 November, 6 to 8pm.
Susan Te Kahurangi King
The first exhibition of work by the New Zealand self-taught artist, Susan Te Kahurangi King, will be on display at the Callan Park Gallery during October. There will be a special viewing of the show on Monday 2 November, 11am to 4pm.
