Business School International Scholarship

Background:

The Business School International Scholarships are awarded to exceptional international students from diversity priority markets.

Open to: To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be an international student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003 at the time of consideration.
  The applicant must have applied for but not yet commenced a bachelor's degree or a coursework master's degree that is a CRICOS registered Award program deliverd onshore at the University of Sydney Business School.
  Applicants commencing a second degree at the University of Sydney are eligible provided they have not previously held the same scholarship.
  Students applying with credit from partner institutions are eligible to be considered if their credit does not exceed 48 credit points if commencing a bachelor's degree, or 24 credit pionts if commencing a master's degree.

Value:

Three scholarships amounts are offered based on ranking against selection criteria.

  • $20,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester,
  • $10,000 payable for one semester,
  • $5,000 payable for one semester.

The number of scholarships would be determined by the selection committee.

John Grill Centre for Project Leadership - Women Leaders in Projects Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship was established by the John Grill Centre for Project Leadership to assist female leaders of major projects to further develop their leadership capabilities and to support better project and organisation outcomes.

Those who apply for the Scholarship will also be assessed for admission into the Program through the one application.

Open to:

Female applicants that have completed an undergraduate degree, graduate certificate or graduate diploma (or equivalent) at the University of Sydney or a comparable awarding institution with a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 65.

Applicants must also have a minimum of 10 years relevant professional project experience and are currently employed working on a major project, or on project related issues.

Applicants must receive an unconditional offer for the Executive Leadership in Major Projects (ELMP) Non-award Program, delivered by the John Grill Centre for Project Leadership at The University of Sydney, to be eligible for the Scholarship.

Applicants must have the support of their current employer to participate in the Program.

Value:  The Scholarship will cover the academic course fees for the four ELMP modules providing they are completed in the one financial year.

University of Sydney Business School Master of Management Scholarship

Background:

The University of Sydney Business School Master of Management Scholarship promotes academic excellence in pre-experience Management education.

Open to: Open to local students who successfully gain entry into the Master of Management or the Master of Management (CEMS).
  Applicants will undertake continuous full-time or part- time study with the University of Sydney Business School from the semester for which they sought entry.
  There is no separate application process for this scholarship. Once interviews for entry into the degree are completed, the admissions committee submits a short list and recommendations to the School’s Executive Committee. A subcommittee may seek further information from short-listed candidates to help it make its decision.
Value: Scholarship covers 50% tuition fees.
Duration:  Tenable for the standard duration of either the Master of Management or Master of Management (CEMS).

Professional Leadership Development Scholarship (Master of Management)

Background:

The Professional Leadership Development Scholarship is a Business School funded initiative established to provide a professional development opportunity to administrative staff and to enhance the capability of the University to achieve its strategic purpose.

Open to: The Scholarship is open to University of Sydney employees in a professional role, who positively and demonstrably contribute to achieving strategic objectives in their work unit or across the University who hold an offer for the Master of Management program.
Value: The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the standard duration of the Master of Management program.
Duration:  Tenable for up to 2 years of part-time study

Business Dean's Scholarship for Academic Excellence

Background:

The Business Dean’s Scholarship for Academic Excellence was established to recognise and reward high achieving postgraduate students in their second or subsequent semester of study who have yet to complete their degree.

Open to: Open to continuing full time international, as well as full time or part time domestic students in an eligible postgraduate coursework program. To be considered, part time students need to complete a minimum 12 credit points, while full time candidates need to complete a minimum 18 credit points in the semester prior to award. 
  To be considered, part time students need to complete a minimum 12 credit points, while full time candidates need to complete a minimum 18 credit points in the semester prior to award.
  Grades achieved in a prior degree within the Business School or at another institution can’t be counted towards the grade performance. However, units completed in Graduate Certificates or Graduate Diplomas may be considered if they are in an embedded sequence within a master’s degree, and if the student has  upgraded to the higher qualification
 

Students who received this award in a previous semester can be considered again the following semester.

Commencing students are not eligible for the Business Dean’s Scholarship.

Value: The scholarship will pay tuition fees to the value of two standard units of study.

The Dean's Scholarship for Remote and Rural Enterprise (RARE) Program

Background:

The scholarship offers financial support to students participating in the RARE Program.

Open to: The scholarship is open to local and international, postgraduate coursework students who have been selected for a place in The RARE Program.
  Recipients for these awards must be enrolled in a degree with the University of Sydney Business School and are in continuous full time or part-time coursework study prior to and returning from the project. 
  The scholarship recognizes candidates with sound academic performances in the University of Sydney Business School, who can also demonstrate an aptitude for cultural awareness, community development and sustainability and entrepreneurial capabilities.
Value: $2,000
Duration:  Tenable during the recipient’s participation in the RARE Program.

The University of Sydney Business School Endeavour Award Postgraduate Top-Up Scholarship

Background:

The Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship provides financial support for international students to undertake a postgraduate qualification at a Masters level by coursework.

Open to: Open to all international students who are admitted to a Masters degree at the University of Sydney Business School and have also been successfully selected to receive the Australian Government's Endeavour Postgraduate Scholarship.
Value: The scholarship covers the balance of tuition fees owing after the Endeavour funding has been applied to the student's University tuition fees.

Student Exchange Travel Scholarship / Strategic Exchange Partner Scholarship

Master of International Business Travel Support Scholarship

Background:

The Master of International Business Travel Support Travel Scholarship has been established by The University of Sydney Business School to support Master of International Business students.

Funds are to be used to assist with the program fees, airfares, and other travel expenses for the international study tour component of the International Business Project.

Open to:

Applicants who are currently enrolled either part or full-time in the Master of International Business at the University of Sydney Business School.

Applicants must be enrolled in the International Business Project Unit of Study in the July or December intensive session, and will undertake the international study tour component of the Project.

Value: Up to $5,000

CEMS Exchange Travel Scholarships

Background:

The University of Sydney Business School is pleased to offer financial assistance to Master of Management (CEMS) students participating on exchange to a recognised CEMS partner university.

Open to: Local and international, postgraduate students currently enrolled in the postgraduate coursework program, Master of Management (CEMS) under the administration of the University of Sydney Business School.
  Candidates must be undertaking one or two semesters of exchange at one of the recognised CEMS partner institutions and undertake approved study which may be credited back to the Master of Management (CEMS) degree. 
  The scholarships may be held concurrently with other scholarship funding that assists with the Student’s Exchange Program.
Value: $2,000 each tenable only during the student’s first semester participating on exchange.

UN Women National Committee Australia MBA Scholarship

Background:

This scholarship was established by the University of Sydney Business School and the National Committee for UN Women to advance the shared commitment to women’s leadership and accelerating progress towards gender equality.

Open to: Female applicants who are an Australian Citizen, or New Zealand Citizen, or Australian Permanent Resident that are eligible for admission into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) within the Business School at the University of Sydney.

Background:

Established from a generous donation from prominent alumnus Alek Safarian, this Scholarship offers support to emerging leaders in the areas of pharmacy, pharmacology, medicine, nursing or science and who demonstrate an interest in the pharmaceutical industry.

The Anstice MBA Scholarship for Community Leadership

Background:

The Anstice MBA Scholarship for Community Leadership assists emerging leaders in community organisations acquire world class business and management skills.

Open to: Open to all students who meet the eligibility criteria for admission to the Master of Business Administration.
  Applicants need not have applied for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) prior to applying for the scholarship, however only applicants with an offer to the MBA can be awarded the scholarship.
  Preference will be given to applicants working in the Not-for-Profit sector, especially charities.
  Applicants are assessed on academic merit, career achievements and evidence of on-going commitment to the sector.

Indigenous Australians Leading in Business Global Executive MBA Scholarship

Background:

The University of Sydney Business school is committed to addressing the under-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in senior leadership positions.

The Indigenous Australians Leading in Business Global Executive MBA Scholarship has been established with the goal of accelerating the rate at which Indigenous Australians move into senior leadership roles within all forms of Australian enterprises.

Open to: Open all domestic students who successfully gain entry to the Global Executive MBA, and who are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person and are accepted as such by the community in which they live, or formerly lived.

The University of Sydney Business School Excellence in Leadership Scholarship

Background:

The scholarship is intended to promote academic excellence at the executive leadership level of education.

Open to: The scholarship is open to local and international students who successfully gain entry to the Executive Master of Business Administration.
Value: The scholarship is valued at half of the total degree tuition fees, or three of the six units of study the recipient is required to undertake. 
Duration:  The scholarship is tenable for the 1.5 year span of the degree.
Open Date:  There is no separate application process for the scholarship. Once all interviews of candidates for entry into the degree are completed the admissions committee will draw up a short-list and make a recommendation for awarding the scholarship.

Background: The scholarship is offered to advance the commitment shared by the University of Sydney Business School and the UN Women National Committee Australia to women’s leadership and accelerating progress towards gender equality.
The UN Women National Committee Australia supports the work of UN Women by raising public awareness of gender and development issues. Women Leading in Business Executive MBA Scholarship

Background: The scholarship is offered to address the under-representation of women in leadership roles and to accelerate progress toward gender equality 
  The University of Sydney Business School is committed to addressing the under-representation of women in senior leadership roles. 
  The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) gender indicator figures released in August 2015 reveal that men continue to hold the majority of Australia’s top leadership positions. This includes senior positions within corporate Australia, the judiciary, federal and state parliamentarians, and managers in the Australian Public Service. 
  To help address this under-representation and to accelerate progress toward gender equality The University of Sydney Business School is offering one scholarship annually from 2017 to a woman undertaking the Global Executive MBA.  
Open to: Open to all women who have received and accepted an offer of admission to the degree Executive Master of Business Administration.
  Recipients must not hold other University scholarship fund(s) awarded to assist with tuition fees.
