Dr. Abdul Kalam International Postgraduate Scholarship

Background:

The Dr Abdul Kalam International Postgraduate Scholarship celebrates his commitment to education and his endeavours to support outstanding students to develop as future leaders.

Open to:

International students who have a full/unconditional offer of admission for a full-time Masters by coursework program in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney by the Scholarship application deadline.

Applicants who have achieved a distinction average (75%) or above in their undergraduate studies.

Applicants who do not currently hold another primary scholarship from the University of Sydney.

 

Students who have already commenced their postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies, or transferring from another postgraduate program are not eligible.

Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies Summer Research Scholarship

Background: This Scholarship was established in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies to provide students with outstanding academic ability the opportunity to undertake a summer research project to gain valuable research experience and knowledge to advance their academic careers. 
Open to: Students currently enrolled in either a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate masters by coursework program at the University of Sydney or another Australian university. 
 

Undergraduate applicants must have a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 75 and be in either their third or fourth year of study. Outstanding second year students may apply providing they have a WAM of at least 80. 

Postgraduate coursework applicants must have a WAM of 75. 

Applicants must supply a personal statement for each project they apply for which demonstrates their interest in the project and why they are a suitable candidate.

Projects

You need to read through the various projects on offer before attempting to complete the application form. You may select up to five projects from across the Faculty. You will need to input the project code for your selected projects into the online application form.

Complex Systems Postgraduate Entry Scholarship

Background:

The Scholarship aims to encourage and assist domestic commencing candidates with completing their studies in the Master of Complex Systems at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Open to all Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents, who have an unconditional offer of admission for the Masters of Complex Systems within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies.
  Applicants must have achieved a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 75 and above, or equivalent, in their previous tertiary studies.

School of Information Technologies Postgraduate Coursework Entry Scholarship

Background:

The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage candidates commencing their studies in the Masters program in the School of Information Technologies in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies.

Open to: Applicants must have a full/unconditional offer to study at the University of Sydney for one of the following coursework programs at the time of the scholarship application closing date for the relevant semester it is being offered:
 
  • Master of Information Technology (MIT)
  • Master of Information Technology Management (MITM)
  • MIT/MITM combined program
  Applicants must not have commenced their studies in one of the above named programs in the Faculty, or have transferred into one of those programs from another postgraduate program.
  Applicants must not currently hold another primary scholarship from the University of Sydney, and

School of Information Technologies Master of Data Science Entry Scholarship

Background:

This scholarship was established to encourage and support high achieving candidates commencing their studies in the Master of Data Science in the School of Information Technologies within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies.

Open to: Applicants must have a full/unconditional offer for the Master of Data Science at the time of the scholarship application closing date for the relevant semester it is being offered and subsequently enrol.
  Applicants must be a graduate of a quantitative degree program which includes data science, computer science, mathematics statistics, engineering, physics, economics and finance, or other disciplines that are deemed quantitative by the relevant School Academic Director. As a guideline, the curriculum of a quantitative disciple should include a minimum of 12 credit points of mathematics or statistics at the tertiary level.
  Applicants must have achieved a distinction average in their previous studies.
  Applicants must not have already commenced their studies in the Master of Data Science or transferred into the program from another postgraduate program.

Background:

The purpose of this Scholarship is to expand and enrich the school’s student community in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies by recognizing and supporting outstanding students from diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. The Scholarship aims to help them to achieve goals in Information Technology

Open to: Be an international applicant whose country of origin/citizenship is from Latin America, the Middle East or Asia Pacific
  have a full/unconditional offer of study and subsequently enrol at the University of Sydney for one of the following coursework programs: Master of Information Technology (MIT), Master of Information Technology Management (MITM), or MIT/MITM combined program
  not have commenced their studies in one of the above named programs in the Faculty or have transferred into one of those programs from another postgraduate program
   have achieved a distinction average or above in their undergraduate studies. An applicant’s performance in IT based subjects will also be considered
   not currently hold another primary scholarship from the University of Sydney

Master of Information Technology Half-fee Semester Scholarship

Background: A limited number of Semester 1 half-fee scholarships shall be made to new students commencing full-time studies in the Master of Information Technology. 
  Some semester 2 scholarships shall also be made available for full-time students who commenced the course in Semester 1, and who are continuing their studies on a full-time basis in Semester 2.
Open to: All students who have accepted an offer of a place in the course prior to the commencement of Semester 1 shall be considered for the award of a scholarship.
