Sydney Nursing School Coursework Scholarships


The Lenity Australia Award Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship has been generously donated by Lenity Australia to support Tongan nurses to study specialty Advanced Learning Masters programs at Sydney Nursing School, at the University of Sydney.

 

This Scholarship aims to contribute further capacity and growth to the Tongan health and education systems by raising the standards of nursing practice and education in Tonga and thereby improve the health of the Tongan community. The Lenity Australia Scholarship is also facilitating the translation of advanced nursing knowledge into best practice and policies for building nursing and health curriculum across the South Pacific region.

Open to: Applicants must be a citizen of Tonga.
  Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Nursing degree (or equivalent) and be a registered nurse in Tonga.
  Applicants must have at least three years nursing experience and be:
  1. currently employed by the Queen Solate School of Nursing, or
  2. working in a relevant clinical area with the capacity to make clinical practice improvements, or
  3. have an interest in teaching with the Queen Solate School of Nursing.
  Applicants must be willing to complete an Advanced Learning Masters in the Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney.
Value: The Scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance of at least $33,884 per annum.
  The Scholarship will cover course fees, overseas health cover, and the Student Services and Amenities Fee for the Sydney Nursing School's Advanced Learning Masters course for a maximum period of 18 months.
Duration:  The Scholarship will provide for the full-time duration of the Advanced Learning Masters course, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

Susan Wakil Scholarships - Postgraduate Rural and Regional Australia

Background:

Established in 2016, this Scholarship has been generously donated by The Susan and Isaac Wakil Foundation to encourage and support individuals from the Rural or Regional Australia to undertake nursing education at Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, at the University of Sydney.

 

This Scholarship is for students at postgraduate level. Students are expected to enrol in either the pre-registration (Master of Nursing - Graduate Entry), or a post-registration (specialty Masters) program.

Open to: Australian citizens or permanent residents from rural or regional Australia
  Enrolled part-time candidates commencing first year of an Advanced Learning Master's degree at Sydney Nursing School.
  Preference for the scholarship will be given to applicants not already in receipt of a scholarship
Value: $4,225 per semester to cover course fees.
Duration:  Tenable up to 5 semesters only.

Susan Wakil Scholarships - Postgraduate Greater Sydney

Background:

Established in 2016, this Scholarship has been generously donated by The Susan and Isaac Wakil Foundation to encourage and support individuals from the Greater Sydney region to undertake nursing education at Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, at the University of Sydney.

 

This Scholarship is for students at postgraduate level. Students are expected to enrol in either the pre-registration (Master of Nursing - Graduate Entry), or a post-registration (specialty Masters) program.

Open to: Australian citizens or permanent residents from Greater Sydney
  Commencing in the first year of an Advanced Learning Master's degree at Sydney Nursing School.
  Preference for the scholarship will be given to applicants not already in receipt of a scholarship
Value: $1,625 per semester

The Trace Richey Scholarship

Background:

Established in 2018, this Scholarship has been generously donated by the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation to assist students commencing their study in 2018 in the Master of Cancer and Haematology Nursing course at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Australian citizens or permanent residents
  Commencing in the first year of a Master of Cancer and Haematology Nursing course at the University of Sydney.
  Applicants must be enrolled in at least 12 credit points each semester
  Applicants must not be deferring their Tuition Fees to a HECS-HELP loan.
Value: $7,000 per annum
Duration:  Tenable for the full-time duration of the course, with a maximum value of $10,500.
