Public Health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship

Background: This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance towards students who are studying a Masters of Public Health at the University of Sydney.
Open to:

Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for part-time or full-time studies in Master of Public Health at the School of Public Health, University of Sydney, commencing in Semester 1 2019 or Semester 2 2019 .

Applicants must have graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Indigenous Health Promotion from the University of Sydney.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity.

Value:

The scholarship will consist of a $10,000 one-off fee reduction in the first semester of enrolment, after the census date.

Where the recipient is studying part time, the amount awarded for each relevant semester will be 50% of the full time rate and the Scholarship will be tenable for two part-time semesters only.

Public Health Asia Pacific Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to students who are studying a degree in the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney and who have citizenship from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore or the Pacific Island Countries and Territories.

Open to:

Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for part-time or full-time studies and commencing in one of the following Masters, Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate degree programs in the School of Public Health:

I.             Clinical Epidemiology
II.            Bioethics
III.           Biostatistics
IV.          Health Policy
V.            Global Health
VI.          Public Health

Applicants must be an international student who are citizens of India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore or the Pacific Island Countries and Territories.

Applicants must be commencing in Semester 2 2019.

Value:

The Scholarship will be valued at $10,000, or a higher amount at the discretion of the Head of School of the School of Public Health and will be stipulated in the Scholarship Offer Letter to the successful recipient(s), and is tenable for one semester.

Where the recipient is studying part time, the amount awarded for each relevant semester will be 50% of the full time rate and the Scholarship will be tenable for two part-time semesters only.

The Scholarship value will be paid directly towards the student’s tuition fees after the census date of the applicable semester.

The Harvey Sutton Global Health Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance towards students who are studying a Masters of Global Health at the University of Sydney and demonstrate a commitment to social justice and global health.

Open to:

Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for part-time or full-time studies in a Master of Global Health at the School of Public Health, in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, commencing in Semester 2 2019.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to social justice and global health.

Value:

The Scholarship will be valued at $10,000 and will be tenable for one semester only.

Where the recipient is studying part time, the amount awarded for each relevant semester will be 50% of the full time rate and the Scholarship will be tenable for two part-time semesters only.

The University of Sydney Global Health Equity Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance towards students who are studying a Masters of Global Health at the University of Sydney and experiencing hardship and/or disadvantage.

Open to:

Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for part-time or full-time studies in a Master of Global Health at the School of Public Health, in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney, commencing in Semester 2 2019.

Applicants must have experienced at least one of the following types of hardship and/or disadvantage:

I.             financial hardship,
II.            from a non-English speaking background,
III.           long-term difficult family circumstances,
IV.          from a rural or isolated area, and/or
V.            from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity.

Value:

The Scholarship will be valued at $10,000 and will be tenable for one semester only.

Judy Simpson Biostatistics Scholarship

Background: Established in 2018, this Scholarship is intended to assist students enrolled in the Biostatistics Program in the Sydney School of Public Health.
Eligibility:

The Scholarship will be awarded annually to students receiving the highest marks in their units of study completed in the current academic year.

Applicants must be continuing enrolment in either the Master of Biostatistics or the Graduate Diploma in Biostatistics at the University of Sydney.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Australian Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen.

Students whose fees are paid by a third party, such as their employer, are not eligible.

Any student may be awarded this Scholarship up to two times during their candidature in the Biostatistics Program.
Value and duration: The Scholarship will cover the fees of up to two BSTA units of study in the next year of enrolment.

Susan Tompkins Scholarship for Indigenous Health Programs

Background:

Established in 2009, this Scholarship has been generously donated by Susan Tompkins to assist students enrolled in Indigenous Health Programs in the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney.

Open to:

To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Indigenous Health Promotion at the University of Sydney, commencing in Semester 2 2019.

Value: The Scholarship is valued at $1000 and is tenable for one year only.

Sydney School of Public Health Clinical Epidemiology Scholarship

Background:

This Scholarship is a Tuition Fee Scholarship that is available to students enrolled in a Master of Clinical Epidemiology degree in the Sydney School of Public Health at the University of Sydney.

Open to:

To be considered eligible for this Scholarship, applicants must be:

I. Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents, and

II. Commencing in a Master of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) or Master of Science in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) at the University of Sydney.

Students who commence in semester 2 may only apply for the scholarship beginning in the next calendar year.

Value:

The value of the Scholarship is $10,000 on the basis the successful recipient completes 48 credit points in the relevant degree.

Phillip and Eugenea Lee Scholarship

Background: This Scholarship was established in 2012 to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students undertaking postgraduate coursework Indigenous Health programs within the University of Sydney School of Public Health.

This Scholarship was donated by the daughter of Phillip and Eugenea Lee.
Open to: Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission or being currently enrolled full-time in a postgraduate coursework Indigenous Health program at the Sydney School of Public Health, University of Sydney.

Applicants must be from the State of Northern Territory.

Applicants must be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander identity.
