Scholarships Available for Year 12 Students

Our aim is to help you achieve your goals at the University of Sydney and scholarships are just one way we can support you during your studies. The scholarships below are for students completing year 12 at high school or TAFE in 2015. Non-school leavers should search for scholarship opportunities listed under current students.

Sydney Scholars Awards
Merit students

These scholarships are awarded based on a combination of school examination results, including ATAR or equivalent, and other achievements that show qualities such as leadership, creativity, self-motivation and communication skills.

Equity Scholarships
Equity Scholarships

These are for students with academic ability and who have experienced financial or other disadvantages that may have affected their studies. Equity Scholarships include University of Sydney Access Scholarships, the Robert Maple Brown Bursary, and Bridging Course Scholarships.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students

The University and Australian Government offer numerous scholarship and financial assistance programs to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

International students
International students

There are many scholarships open to international students. If you are an international student applying through UAC for admission to the University of Sydney, you can apply for the Sydney Scholars Awards.

E12 students
E12 student

If you are studying at a high school that has been identified by the government as 'low socio-economic' or are experiencing financial hardship, you could be eligible for the E12 early offer scheme. You could also be eligible for the equity scholarships which require a separate application through UAC.
