Sporting Scholarships
For over a century, sport has been a component of the student experience at the University of Sydney. The University boasts more than 300 Australian Representatives, including 115 Olympians and more than 100 Wallabies. Since its inception in 1990, the Elite Athlete Program has become a leader in the provision of services to elite athletes.
Sydney University Sports & Fitness offer scholarships to elite athletes to allow for sporting and academic goals to be realised. The benefits surrounding these scholarships are aplenty and includes travel grants and personal development.

David Clarke Memorial Scholarship
The David Clarke Memorial Scholarship is for Students that are Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and prospects, which are or intend to become Sydney University rugby players with ambitions for higher honours in the sport of rugby and who embody the values and high standards of integrity that David Clarke represented.
Scholarships will be granted to enable individuals to pursue their University of Sydney studies at either undergraduate or postgraduate level. The Scholarship will meet tuition expenses and course fees and (at the discretion of the Selection Panel) other expenses necessarily incurred in undertaking their course of study for the length of their degree (plus one honours year).
Applications will be assessed on the basis of excellence in both academic and Rugby Union achievements. The Selection Panel will consist of The Chairman of the Macquarie Bank, the President of the Sydney University Football Club, Mrs David Clarke, the Vice-Chancellor of The University of Sydney or his nominee and a nominee of The University of Sydney.
Scholarship Amount $15,000 per year for the duration of the students degree program including honours
