Susan Wakil Scholarship - Undergraduate Rural and Regional

Background:

Established in 2016, this scholarship has been generously donated by the Susan and Isaac Wakil Foundation to encourage individuals from rural or regional Australia to undertake a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Australian citizens and permanent residents, from rural or regional Australia.
  Enrolled full-time candidates commencing first year of a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School.
  Preference is given to applicants who are not already in receipt of a scholarship.
Value: $14,500 per semester to cover course fees.
Duration:  Tenable up to 6 semesters only.

Open to: Australian citizens and permanent residents, from Greater Sydney

  Preference is given to applicants who are not already in receipt of a scholarship.

Background:

Established in 2016, this scholarship has been generously donated by the Susan and Isaac Wakil Foundation to encourage individuals who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) to undertake a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery, at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Australian citizens and permanent residents, who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  Enrolled full-time candidates commencing first year of a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School.
  Preference is given to applicants who are not already in receipt of a scholarship.
Value: $14,500 per semester to cover course fees.

Women's Plans Foundation Award

Background:

This Scholarship has been established to assist students studying at the University of Sydney Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery (Sydney Nursing School) who have demonstrated interest in reproductive health and family planning as a component of women’s development in third world countries.

Open to:

a.       Applicants must be Australian Citizens or Australian permanent residents.

b.      Applicants must be currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree program or in an undergraduate honours year program in the Sydney Nursing School.

c.       Applicants must not be in their final year of study.

d.      Applicants must be able to demonstrate interest in reproductive health and family planning as a component of women’s development in third world countries.

Value: The Scholarship is valued at $1,000 and is paid as a one-off payment.
