Faculty Travelling Scholarship

Background:

The Seashells Travel Scholarship was established to support pre-registered nursing students study overseas.

Open to: Open to Australian citizens or permanent residents who satisfy the general eligibility criteria for the PhD at Sydney Nursing School.
  Applicants should be pre-registration (registered nurses are not eligible to apply).
Value: $4,000 per semester
Duration:  One-off

Susan Wakil Scholarship - Undergraduate Rural and Regional

Background:

This scholarship is to encourage individuals to undertake a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School, at the University of Sydney and who are from rural or regional Australia, from the Greater Sydney region, and students who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

Open to: Australian citizens and permanent residents from rural or regional Australia.
  Enrolled full-time candidates commencing first year of a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School
  Preference is given to applicants who are not already in receipt of a scholarship.
Value: $14,500 per semester
Duration:  Tenable for up to 3 years

Susan Wakil Scholarship - Undergraduate Greater Sydney

Background:

This scholarship aims to encourage individuals from the Greater Sydney region to undertake a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School, at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Australian citizens or permanent resident from Greater Sydney region
  Enrolled full-time candidates commencing first year of a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School 
  Preference is given to applicants who are not already in receipt of a scholarship.
Value: $20,000 per year
Duration:  Tenable for up to 3 years

Susan Wakil Scholarships - Undergraduate Indigenous

Background:

This scholarship aims to encourage individuals who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander to undertake a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School, at the University of Sydney.

Open to: Australian citizens or permanent residents who identify as Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders;
  Applicants must be relocating to Sydney to commencec the first year of a Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies) degree at Sydney Nursing School;
  and must enrol full-time.
  Preference for the scholarship will be given to applicants who are not already in receipt of a scholarship.
Value: Scholarship value is $14,500 per semester to cover course fees and living expenses capped at $87,500.
Duration:  Tenable for up to 3 years.

Sisters of Charity Nursing Scholarship

Background:

This scholarship was established to ensure that the absence of money does not stand in the way of a selected person’s ability to achieve their maximum potential, in terms of a formal tertiary education

 

In 2013 Sydney Nursing School is offering for the first time the Sisters of Charity Nursing Scholarship. The Sisters of Charity Foundation is a public non-profit organisation that supports the community and aims to bridge the gap where people are lacking support or funding to achieve their goals. Open to: Either from foster care or out-of-home care; and/or  from a low socio-economic background, and/or  are able to demonstrate a disadvantage, such as financial, receipt of Centrelink mean tested benefit,
  Citizen or permanent resident of Australia
  Enrolled in the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing (Advanced Studies);
  Demonstrates a strong passion to pursue a career in the field of  nursing 
 

 reference given to students not already receiving a scholarship

Value: $25,000
Duration:  Over the course of 3 years in equal portions
